Who Doesn't Love the Art Supply Store?

I took the little Viewminders out to Blick Art Materials this weekend.

It's always cool to walk around the art store.

Looking at all of the brushes and the paints, the paper and the canvas'...

it makes my mind wander to thoughts of things I've wanted to do but haven't.

In the frame aisle I think of all the shots I want to print and frame.

One by one the art stores I've loved have left us.

I really miss the Pearl across from the Paper Source.

I thought I'd try and capture some images in Blick Art Materials that kind of embrace what it is that I love about these places.

I watched a woman look at the moleskin display for about a half hour...

I wondered what she was thinking as she flipped through each little blank book.

I'd wanted to photograph the display but she was so engrossed in it.

The little artists painted up some masks there at an activity table they'd set up for the weekend.

I sat down on the floor and watched it all go by.

Life I think would be so different if I went to the art supply store thinking about some project that I wanted to do...

instead... it is the art supply store itself that inspires me...

I leave there filled with ideas.
