This mixed media altered art hat is made from a Styrofoam plate and bowl. It is covered with stamped, torn sandwich paper and decorated with ribbon, pearls and a large pearl and rhinestone scarf clip. This view shows the inside.

Photographing smoke art is one of the most rewarding aspects of home photography. We've all seen the wispy strands that float and glide through the air, but it's not until these trails are frozen in time do we see the true beauty and elegance of their construction.
In many images it's possible to see a subject within the smoke.
The advantage of smoke art photography is that - compared to water droplets - the patterns take longer to form so it's easier to judge when to take the shot. It's when the scene is viewed on the screen that the true diversity and uniqueness of the patterns is realised.
This was processed in Photoshop to highlight the patterns that exist within the formations.
The smoke was created by burning an incense stick and the light was a flashgun behind and below at an angle of 45° upwards. The result was processed in Photoshop.

Samsung Electronics hosted “Children’s Art Contest” where children and their parents are welcome to participate, using their imagination and Galaxy Note 10.1 in Seoul. The contest will run through Oct 7th at both Jamsil Pororo Park and Yeongdeungpo Time Square. Children from preschool to 3rd grade can join the contest to draw on Galaxy Note 10.1.

삼성전자가 2일 서울 영등포 타임스퀘어 '딸기가 좋아'에서 개최한 '우리 아이 상상력 그리기 대회'에 참가한 아이와 학부모가 '갤럭시 노트 10.1'을 이용해 그림 솜씨를 뽐내고 있다. 영등포 타임스퀘어 '딸기가 좋아'와 잠실 '뽀로로 파크'에서 10월 7일까지 개최되는 이번 행사에는 미취학 아동(만3~6세), 초등학교 1~3학년생이 학부모와 함께 참여할 수 있으며 현장에서 갤럭시 노트 10.1로 그린 그림을 응모하면 된다.

The Rotary Club of Adliya "Earth Day Art Competition" took place on Friday 21st March 2008 and raised BD26,750 for charitable causes.
BD20,000 will be donated to the Ministry of Social Development in order for them to build a specialised Art Centre and Workshop for people with special needs.
BD2,000 will be donated to the "Philipines Workers Association" to help destitute Filipino workers fly back home should they wish to.
Paintings will also be auctioned and money generated from the auctions will be used for further charitable causes.

“Our painting is about global warming. It is divided into a good side and a bad side. The good side shows animals, bicycles, trees, fruit, happiness… the bad side shows car fumes, aircraft, extinct animals, rubbish… We all know that global warming is harming our world. Many people and animals are in danger. When our painting is seen on display in Poland – with pictures from many other different countries – we hope that people will decide to do something about climate change,” says 10-year-old Asha Seekings.
Artists from around the world have painted canvases illustrating the human impact of climate change in their countries. Sixteen of these canvases are being exhibited at the UN Climate Negotiations in Poznan, Poland, from December 1, 2008.
