Photographing smoke art is one of the most rewarding aspects of home photography. We've all seen the wispy strands that float and glide through the air, but it's not until these trails are frozen in time do we see the true beauty and elegance of their construction.

In many images it's possible to see a subject within the smoke.

The advantage of smoke art photography is that - compared to water droplets - the patterns take longer to form so it's easier to judge when to take the shot. It's when the scene is viewed on the screen that the true diversity and uniqueness of the patterns is realised.

This was processed in Photoshop to highlight the patterns that exist within the formations.

The ORANGE BURST Glass Heart Necklace

A one of a kind signature JEWELS by L Designs Heart found only in my collection. This glass lampwork heart was handmade by me in the flame. Beautiful shades of bright glowing orange with a band of shimmering rainbow dichroic glass all coated with clear for added depth and shine.

This glass has been wrapped with sterling silver wire. Accenting the top and bottom of this heart are beautiful faceted mexican fire opal and carnelian. The bottom of the heart is finished off with a lovely solid sterling silver end cap and dropping below the cluster of gems is a large faceted orange chalcedony briolette. All gems are beautiful quality and compliment this heart perfectly.

Including the bail, heart measures 2.75 inches (7 cm) in length and a little over 1 inch (2.5cm) in width. This heart hangs from a beautiful sterling silver chain in 18 inches. If you prefer a different length of chain or different cords please convo me for options and pricing.

The art community in Second Life is a varied one. Fine art, outsider art, underground art, performance art and music are all mixed in with the technical aspects of programming and scripting.

Second Life is one of the first places to combine right and left brain thinkers into one fantastic execution of art and builds in a virtual reality.

The sophistication of the artist is apparent at several places on the SL grid. There are many places that rival my favorites, but these are my personal choices based on my reaction or how long it stayed with me.

The Apollo sim will always be my very favorite place, but here are two that just captured my head and heart. La Reve and pteron are included on my "to die for" list and of course, The A List!

Both are fantastic. Both are fabulously done with a flair that most of us who build, will never achieve. I also included a few stand-outs from Esperance, Nebulous's ArtHole installation, and also, the conceptual Muzik Haus.

Muzik Haus is included, not because of the build itself. That part is simple, but the concept itself is one that stays with me. Mr Widget is the dj and his party making mash-ups create a total ambiance that drives the performance itself.

He is my current favorite dj. He is a mash-up king. And he shares his knowledge with us so generously.

All these places and all these people... standing before you and your art, sometimes overwhelms me to a point of tears. The emotional connection I feel when I explore or listen is the reason why I believe that art equals life. For without art... life is a dreary place and that is no life for anyone.

KROMATIC ART, MUSIC, DESIGN

Second Life holiday parties was an incredible mix of trance, dnb, electronica, dark psy, goa, minimal, proggy, acid, experimental, industrial, noize, tribal, jazz, live music, country, blues, reggae, salsa, classical, opera, and Christmas music. I heard it all and then some.

I love music of all kinds. If it's good, it's worth listening to, so don't start with the nose-up-in-the-air over your favorite genre. Believe me... good music will always find an audience. An audience of sophisticated listeners will stop to listen to any good sound... even if it isn't part of your normal repertoire.

What is amazing is that dj's and musicians around the world know this, and they borrow from all genres to create their own personal sounds.

Here in Second Life, we get the results from around the world. World music mixes with the trendy sounds of the day, and we get the sounds that we love so much.

I want to thank all the dj's, musicians, club owners and event makers in SL. You guys made a holiday scene like no other. APPLAUSE & BRAVO ::::

The Rotary Club of Adliya "Earth Day Art Competition" took place on Friday 21st March 2008 and raised BD26,750 for charitable causes.

BD20,000 will be donated to the Ministry of Social Development in order for them to build a specialised Art Centre and Workshop for people with special needs.

BD2,000 will be donated to the "Philipines Workers Association" to help destitute Filipino workers fly back home should they wish to.

Paintings will also be auctioned and money generated from the auctions will be used for further charitable causes.

Nake es escritor de graffiti, granadino. Con la calle como escuela y el muro como lienzo. Demuestra en sus obras un uso magistral de la luz y el contraste, dotando a sus obras de un imaginario propio, llenas de fuerza y color.

Nake ha participado en varias exposiciones colectivas y ha recibido varios premios por sus obras. Ahora, por primera vez en una exposición individual, podemos disfrutar de su arte en Pupa Tattoo Art Gallery.
