The Rotary Club of Adliya "Earth Day Art Competition" took place on Friday 21st March 2008 and raised BD26,750 for charitable causes.
BD20,000 will be donated to the Ministry of Social Development in order for them to build a specialised Art Centre and Workshop for people with special needs.
BD2,000 will be donated to the "Philipines Workers Association" to help destitute Filipino workers fly back home should they wish to.
Paintings will also be auctioned and money generated from the auctions will be used for further charitable causes.

A foto escolhida para ilustrar está página foi a da Rua do Bom Jesus localizada em Recife, pois conta com uma infinidade de cores que transmitem alegria. E é com cores vivas que o Brasil é conhecido lá fora.

Die Burg Giebichenstein Hochschule für Kunst und Design Halle hatte vom 17. bis 19. Juli zur Jahresausstellung 2009 eingeladen, damit die Studenten ihre Werke der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit vorstellen konnten.

A 4th-century carving from an early Christian sarcophagus in the Pio Christian Museum in the Vatican depicts the adoration of the Magi.
This incident from the Gospels is a mark of Christ's kingship. Today, 25 November, is the feast of Christ the king.
Roger Wagner, Ashmolean Museum 14th March 2010

On 14th March 2010 we attended the Private View to Roger Wagner's exhibition of Menorah and Book of Praises at the Ashmolean Museum. Roger's work was well displayed in one of the new galleries and although I have known this painting since first seeing it at Dorchester Abbey, it has never looked better. Richard Harries the former Bishop of Oxford gave a brief talk on Roger's work and its significance. The exhibition runs until 24th March then at St Giles Oxford. The painting Menorah has been acquired by the museum, the Ashmolean held a one man show of his work back in 1994. I have since come to know Roger personally and have a great admiration and respect for his dedication and singular artistic vision.
Roger Wagner is an artist very much in the tradition of Samuel Palmer, William Blake and Stanley Spencer. He works in a figurative style on Biblical subjects often with strong symbolic elements. This painting hangs in St Giles (Oxford), The former Bishop of Oxford The Rt Revd Richard Harries is a great supporter of Roger's art. Roger had a one man exhibition at the Ashmolean in Oxford in 1994
A book that has recently been published on Roger Wagner's work is entitled "Forms of Transendence" by Chris Miller with a foreword by Richard Harries, published by Piquant editions ISBN 978-1-903689-55-4. It is well illustrated with examples of his work from 1984 to the present day.
